Onboarding overview

How a municipality moves from initial sign-up to active operation of decidio.

Overview

Before decidio is actively used by residents, the municipality goes through an onboarding. It guides through the most important settings so that the later operation begins smoothly — and it is built so it can be completed without external assistance.

How it works

The onboarding assistant is split into several steps. First the profile of the municipality is captured — name, address and contact person. Next the committees to be represented in decidio are created — see Sessions overview.

In the next step the topic areas are created that are later used for structuring in moderation and on the dashboard. Then legal basics follow — for example imprint, privacy notice and information on data processing — as well as creating the first team members.

A municipality can start the onboarding through self-service provisioning: after completing the sign-up the tenant environment is provisioned automatically and becomes usable immediately.

Common tasks

Set up a new municipality

  1. Start the sign-up on the marketing site.
  2. Confirm the confirmation e-mail and unlock the account.
  3. Walk through the onboarding assistant step by step.
  4. Start the trial operation with your own team.

Pause and resume the onboarding

The assistant remembers the last step. On the next sign-in it picks up there again. A fully completed onboarding is a prerequisite for opening up the public intake channel.

Move from trial to live operation

Once the team is happy with the settings, in the settings pick the "Publish" step. From this moment the public submission form is reachable for residents.
