Dashboard and analytics

How the mayor dashboard surfaces trends and topics as a strategic overview for decision making.

Overview

The mayor dashboard condenses participation across a municipality into a strategic overview. It addresses the top of the administration and answers the question which topics move residents and how the processing is developing.

How it works

The dashboard is built from tiles. Each tile addresses one question: which topics are present right now, how is the distribution of processing states, how do the incoming requests develop over time, and which trends are emerging.

The tiles show developments and distributions as visual overviews — the focus is on patterns, not on individual values. Anyone who needs detail on a request jumps from a tile directly into the underlying list or into the Moderation inbox.

Additional analyses such as cohort views, sentiment indicators or risk hints are available for strategic planning. They follow the same principle: strategic overview for the administration, not public display for residents.

Common tasks

Open the dashboard

  1. Open the dashboard area in the administration view.
  2. Filter to the desired timeframe.
  3. Click a tile to jump into the underlying list.

Developments show patterns of participation. A rising curve in a topic area is a hint that should be evaluated together with the Moderation inbox — the tile does not replace a substantive review.

Share the strategic overview

The dashboard can additionally be displayed as a kiosk view, for example in the foyer of the municipality. More on this in Kiosk display.
