Kiosk display
How the key overviews can be used as a large-screen display — for example in the municipality foyer.
Overview
Some content should not stay behind a login but be visible in the public space. The kiosk display bundles a curated overview and exposes it as a large-screen mode for displays in the foyer or in the council chamber.
How it works
The kiosk display is a dedicated dashboard view optimised for screens without operator interaction. It rotates content in a fixed order, needs no mouse or keyboard and omits controls that are not relevant to the audience.
The selection of tiles follows the principle of differentiated transparency: the content shown is what carries value for the public — such as topic overviews and trends — and no internal evaluations that are reserved for the administration.
Common tasks
Start the kiosk mode
- Open the dashboard area in the administration view.
- Pick the "Kiosk mode" action.
- Switch the browser into full-screen mode.
Set up a suitable display
A permanently connected screen with an updatable browser is recommended. A dedicated browser login can be configured so the display automatically returns to kiosk mode after a restart.
Refresh the content
Should the content be adjusted, close and reopen the dashboard briefly. The kiosk mode then picks up the new selection.
